The Ballina Shire Council in New South Wales Australia recently completed a $45 million upgrade of their WWTP to a Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) facility. Aquality Water Management worked with engineers and contractors to startup and commission the facility, assist in the development of standard operating procedures and emergency response plans, developed a comprehensive Operations Guide, trained operations in lab procedures and trained staff in the proper operation of the MBR system.
Graton Casino & Resort is located in Rohnert Park near Northern California’s wine country. The water treatment system serves the Casino and upcoming Hotel resort. Aquality commissioned the facility in 2013, and continues to provide contract operations for the facility.
The FCUSD has two high schools with science laboratories that are equipped with passive acid neutralization units. One school is located in Folsom and the other is located in Rancho Cordova.
The waste stream from all sinks and fume hood areas a routed through the acid neutralization nits and a constant pH is monitored on the unit’s effluent. Once the waste stream has been neutralized it enters the local sewer system. Aquality assisted in the cleanout and refurbishing of the system as well as upgrades to the electronics of the pH monitoring system. Aquality also provide training on the system to school staff.
The mobile home park provides affordable living to senior residents in the area. It is located in Placer County near the town of Newcastle. The facilities there consist of a potable water treatment facility utilizing local canal water as its source and a pair of wastewater treatment ponds. The wastewater system is a zero discharge system.
The Migrant Center provides seasonal housing between the months of April and October for migrant farm worker families during the agricultural season. For six months of the year, migrant workers live in the affordable housing provided by the County while they help bring in the harvest in the surrounding fields. Aquality assisted Colusa County with ongoing regulatory, design, and process issues at its Migrant Housing Wastewater Treatment Plant while also continuing to operate and maintain the existing facilities.
Our review of the County’s regulatory issues and O&M challenges led us to conclude the County would be best served by decommissioning the plant and utilizing an existing, untapped connection to the City of Williams. This solution saves the County money and improves process efficiency. To fund improvements to the wastewater system, we assisted the County in preparing and submitting a $1.5 million Community Development Block Grant application
Cosumnes River Elementary School is part of the Elk Grove Unified School District. The wastewater treatment plant serves the school and grounds. Aquality commissioned the plant after a delayed startup period, and continued to operate the facility while guiding EGUSD staff towards SWRCB operator certification.
San Joaquin County’s water, wastewater and stormwater systems serve Lodi, Stockton, Manteca and surrounding areas. Aquality has been working with the County to implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to improve efficiency and extend the life of the County’s assets.
Sutter Creek is small city in the wine country of Amador County. The trickling filter wastewater treatment facility serves the city and surrounding areas. Aquality oversees the total wastewater, sewer collection, treatment, and effluent disposal system, managing the various workgroups associated with ARSA, the wastewater treatment facilities, and the sewer collection and conveyance system. Our services include the initiation and oversight of a program that assists the City in making sound operational and financial decisions while providing optimal and systematic risk management.
Thunder Valley Casino is located in the foothills of the Sierras near Lincoln, CA. The water, wastewater and recycled water facilities serve the metropolitan Sacramento area’s first casino. The MBR plant was commissioned in 2003, and continues to be operated by our team today. Our services are comprehensive, including staffing, monitoring, reporting, and CMMS implementation. We are also assisting the Casino with special testing to accommodate stricter permitting in the future.
